Hi, i’m Melina!
I am an industrial designer and overall enthusiastic creative! Originally from the Bay Area, I graduated from Cal State University Long Beach cum laude with a B.S. in Industrial Design.
I demonstrate strong creative ability and communication skills. I’m always keeping an optimistic outlook on life and constantly enjoy learning new things.
When I’m not designing, I like to explore nature and the great outdoors, play volleyball, craft, eat(!) and spend time with my family.
When it’s good, we all win.
Mission
I strive to create high quality products and solutions that improve the quality of everyday life, that people are proud to own and inspire them to think about how they live and interact with the environment around them.
Why did I become an Industrial Designer?
Interestingly I didn't learn about industrial design until right before college. I have a variety of interests and industrial design is the perfect combination of said interests that touch on all aspects from marketing, packaging, manufacturing, and most importantly applied design. I am able to create functional art with purpose and people in mind.
When I was deciding between majors and colleges, I visited the CSULB campus and got the opportunity to enter the design building. Walking down the hallways I was surrounded by these giant poster boards of previous student projects and I was fascinated by the variety of content I saw around me. In that moment I realized that everything in our lives is affected by industrial design whether we realize it or not. Because of this, I have the opportunity to affect lives. As I have stated in my vision: I can create products that free people from inconveniences, they are proud to own, and inspire people to think about how they live and interact with the world around them.
